Who Can Win Gold In Trampolining?

It might be early but not to early to guess who will win the trampolines sport gold in 2012 but I am just trying to build up the buzz of Olympics coming to London. One of the biggest thing happened in the UK after 1966's World cup. This will be a great year for sports as European Championship will also be held on 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

 

Trampoline joined Olympic sports in 2000 in which gymnasts perform them acrobatic skills. Somersaults and twists are couple of common acrobats performed in a trampoline. Twists and somersaults are certainly the hard jumps while trampolining. When Russia were Soviet Union they used to rull gymnastics but now China have taken full control of gymnastics. In 2008 USA and Russia were out performed by China who finished top in medals tally. USA finish second behind China with 36 gold medals and China won 15 more than USA to finish with 51 gold medals. This is a massive improvement from China.

 

After this success almost all kids want to be a part of gymnastics whether it is to do with trampolines or anything else, hence parents are getting their kids either 8ft trampolines to 10ft trampolines. Even though the sport has only started few years ago (trampolines) it is great to see children enjoying it. The performance of the country in the Olympics is what driving these kids to learn these sports.

 

In the UK that doesn't happen because all kids want to do is either play football or cricket. Even if they start from when they are kids when they get to the national level they cannot perform as we have seen from this year's World cup. We all know there is something wrong somewhere but not sure what. China does have a massive population hence they can find specialist on every game, one day they will surely play cricket too ). I believe they will do well again in London and perhaps take more than 51 gold medals.

Does anyone know the name of the author or the book that the Today Show aired on 10/11?

This is a book that is more for young people. They also showed a clip of a chicken mascot and others chasing a pig off the playing field... a russian medal dropped in the sea ... I've tried looking at their web site but nothing! If anyone knows who this guy is and his book, please let me know. Ann Curry said her 9 yr old took the book and wouldn't give it back!
