Why do people hate guns?

Well I personally love guns I have shoot my uncles glock in a firing range I have also shoot a .22 cal bolt action rifle.I still wonder why do people hate guns when they should be more afraid that the person holding the gun I in the future would like to be a soldier and a proud gun owner I would like to own a type 99 Arisaka rifle(japanese) but I really want to know what you think?

You basically have two types of gun-haters:

The first type of gun-hater will look at accidental shootings and blame the gun. No, the person holding the weapon forgot (or never learned) the first rule of fire-arms: An-unloaded gun is like a unicorn, there's no such thing. Most accidental (I prefer the word negligent) shootings happen when "it wasn't loaded". If you keep in mind that EVERY fire-arm is ALWAYS loaded, accidents will result in a hole in the floor not your friend.

The second type of person that hates guns will look at the violence that has been committed with guns and will blame the gun. They seem to forget that some a$$#@le is pulling the trigger. They will point out tragedies like Columbine and say the guns are at fault, ignoring the fact that a couple of sociopaths decided that mass murder was the proper response to being picked on. They'll also ignore the fact that those same two idiots had several bombs set up in the school. They'll ignore facts such as ten years ago not a single gun was used to kill over three thousand people and destroy two skyscrapers. These gun haters seem to think that with guns all violence in the world would disappear. This is of course completely wrong, was the world a peaceful joyous place prior to the invention of gun powder - no. Violence happens everyday, with knives, clubs and empty hands?

By the way, I've been robbed at gun point. I have also on separate occasions, had friend and a loved one killed by walking turds who used guns. I've also lost a friend to a drunk driver. I blame neither the guns nor the car, heck I own some of my own.
